Job Purpose
The Head Track & Field Coach supports DASA’s innovative adaptive sports and fitness
programs. Working closely with staff, volunteers, and athletes, this role ensures an inclusive,
empowering, and safe training experience for all participants. This is a fast-paced, hands-on
role that requires passion, creativity, adaptability, and teamwork.
Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities
● Manage weekly practices and design and implement a productive track and field practice
plan for individuals with varying physical ability levels.
● Coordinating all aspects of the Track & Field program, including:
○ Team composition and athlete evaluation
○ Practice planning and supervision
○ Competition strategy and logistics
● Regularly attend evening practices 2 nights per week.
● Travel to 3-5 out-of-town regional weekend competitions. Travel & lodging is covered by
DASA.

● Ability to work independently, supervise volunteers, and meet program goals.
● Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.

Required Qualifications
● 1–3 years of experience in Track & Field (as a coach, athlete, or trainer).
● Proficiency with web-based and basic computer applications.
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
● Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and successfully complete a

Safesport Training.
Working Conditions
● Hours: 5-10 hours/week; evening availability required and some and weekend
availability.
● Travel: Required within Greater St. Louis and for occasional regional events.
● Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs on occasion.
