Move United is excited to share the collective impact of our adaptive sports network has been researched and quantified. After conducting the 2025-26 Move United Member Organization Survey, the insights reflect a robust and expansive adaptive sports movement in the United States and the results showcase what’s possible when organizations unite with a shared mission.
With an exceptional 85% response rate, 209 of our 245 member organizations contributed data to paint the most comprehensive picture yet of adaptive sports in America. This wasn’t just a survey; it was a demonstration of our network’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and shared growth.
The Collective Impact is Extraordinary
Volunteer Power Fuels the Movement
An impressive 95% of the Move United member organizations engage volunteers. Collectively, the network engages 47,259 volunteers with an estimated $39.6 million in economic value annually. These aren’t just hours donated—they’re coaches believing in athletes, event organizers creating opportunities, and community members showing up to say: you belong here.
Building the Future Through Youth
90% of our network serves young people age 26 and under. Over 51,000 youth are supported across the country. These aren’t just programs; they’re launching pads. Every young person who discovers adaptive sports builds confidence, community, and a foundation for lifelong participation.
Honoring Those Who Served
88.5% of member organizations actively serve veterans and military members. This means that nearly 24,000 veterans are provided the opportunity to participate in sports and recreation. This profound dedication demonstrates that adaptive sports isn’t just about athletic opportunity; it’s about belonging, purpose, and community for those who’ve served our nation.
Different Models, Shared Mission
Our network’s strength lies in its diversity. From organizations maximizing reach through streamlined delivery to those providing comprehensive, specialized services, member organizations demonstrate that there’s no single path to impact. Together, we ensure adaptive sports meets every community where it is.
