Paul Johnson served in the United States Marine Corps from May 1975 to April 1996. Upon his retirement, he started working for Buchanan Technologies as an IT Consultant. He worked for 24 years with Buchanan of which he provided support for the Bell Flight Executive Staff for 22 of those years.
Paul has been involved in wheelchair racing since 1989 first as a coach in Hawaii for my daughter and several other athletes on Oahu. He attended his first Junior Nationals that year in Cupertino, CA. In 1992, Paul became a certified track and field official and since he has officiated at Junior Nationals, US Paralympic Trials, and has attended ITO training in Beijing.
During his involvement with Move United, he has served on the Board of Directors, ATFUSA Board of Directors, Coaches Education Committee, Officials Training Committee, and the Event Sanctioning Committee. Today, Paul is on the Southwest Wheelchair Athletic Association Board of Directors in Texas.
The Competition Committee includes a diverse representation of voices from the competition space. The group’s focus is on how Move United can better serve athletes in competition and support event directors currently hosting competition and those interested in hosting competition in the future.
