We are honored to be able to host a very special Adaptive Ski Day specifically for participants with spinal cord injuries. This event is made possible via grants from the Craig H Neilsen Foundation through Move United Sports as well as the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and will be held at Webster’s Memorial Beach in Webster Massachusetts. Our trained staff will be utilizing specialized sit-skis to give each participant the thrill and excitement of being on the water and experiencing the sport we love! Registrations Are limited to those with a spinal cord injury only* * Registrations open to those with a spinal cord injury, conditions that affect the spinal cord – such as spina bifida do not meet the requirements set by the grants and thus are not allowed to register at this time. If we do not fill all the spots for this event with those with traumatic spinal cord injuries, we will open the event up to others. Please contact adaptive@websterwaterski.org for more information concerning registration requirements. A $40 refundable deposit will be required to hold your spot (the event itself is FREE, the deposit is just meant to hold your spot). Deposits will be returned (upon request) on the day of the event, if the participant does not request their deposit back the funds go into our Adaptive Ski Budget to offset the cost for lunch and help us bring more events like this to Central Massachusetts. Lunch will be provided: As part of the event, we will be catering a box lunch or pizza for both the morning and afternoon sessions. We will also have an Ice Cream truck on site for the kids which we will giving each participant a voucher for one free ice-cream treat. Doughnuts and coffee will be available for the morning session as well. All of this is FREE for the participants via donations from our sponsors and donors! Cancellation Policy: We strive to fill all of our events, and will request a 72 hour notice prior to the event of a cancellation in order to receive your deposit back. The 72 hour window will allow us to contact someone on the wait list or try to fulfill the spot that is being vacated. SKIERS: All skier MUST fill out the questionnaire attached to this registration form – failure to do so will result in your registration being canceled, as the information is essential for our planning and records to satisfy some of our grants that make events like these possible. Life Jackets: Life jackets MUST be warn by all participants while they are in the water. We do have many different sizes of life jackets available for participants, but highly encourage people to bring their own if they have them. We will conduct a safety evaluation of all skiers prior to their ski run to make sure the jacket properly fits and is secure.
