Travel Scholarship Application
To help support organizations showing a need, Move United is providing limited travel scholarships for member organizations to support staff/volunteers who serve disabled veterans and are seeking to expand their wheelchair tennis and/or wheelchair lacrosse coaching skills, but have limited training opportunities in the local area.
Scholarship provides funding to support travel to participate in USTA Wheelchair Tennis Coach Development Training (September 17, 2021) and/or WLUSA Wheelchair Lacrosse Coach Clinic (September 18-19, 2021):
- Can be used to cover airfare, lodging, and ground transportation essential to attend training
- Reimbursement is contingent upon successful completion of the training and submission of itemized receipts
- All submitted receipts must follow Move United travel policies, which will be provided to the attendee if they are selected for the scholarship
Requirements:
- Affiliated with a Move United member organization
- Provide services at no cost for disabled veterans
- Not employed by the VA
Priority consideration will be given to applicants who:
- Affiliated with a Move United member organization with annual operating budget less than $1 million
- Help train staff/volunteers at their organization
- Include a letter of recommendation from supervisor
- Describe in application a significant need for the training (i.e. limited training opportunities in the local area, impact on services to disabled veterans in current/future programming)
- Individuals with disabilities and veterans are encouraged to apply
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and recipients will be notified as soon as possible. Questions?
