Budget

Please provide as much detail as possible. Funds shall be used only for direct costs associated with the training activity. Move United will make every effort to fulfill all budgeted items, however reserves the right to eliminate items from the request, including but not limited to those that are not allowable costs under VA-SPORTS-25 or that Move United determines would negatively impact our overall application. Excluded items include (for example): alcohol, postage/shipping, social events, hospitality, administrative staff, gifts and promotional items. Move United will make reasonable efforts to communicate regarding eliminated items but in the interests of time may make assumptions in order to apply for the grant. If successful, Move United will provide an award agreement and final approved budget for review. It is helpful to bear in mind that the VA stipulates that travel related costs cannot exceed 20% of the total budget. Move United cannot guarantee all requests will be submitted and/or awarded. Please ensure there are no duplicative items, i.e. if the training fees includes cost of the trainer do not budget for this separately. The VA may also choose to award a partial grant.

Venue/Facility Rental

Please provide total request and breakdown, i.e. 3 hours of gym rental x $50/hr = $150. Also include trail and lift passes here.

Trainer Fee

Qualified trainers accredited to teach and certify instructors. Please provide total request and breakdown, i.e. 8 hours X 2 days X $25/hr = $400. If requesting separately make sure this is not included in the certification expense.

Trainer Flight/Ground Transportation

Include flight and/or ground travel (provide rate detail)

Include nightly rate and number of nights

Equipment

Include sport/recreation equipment needed to conduct the training activity, plus any equipment that is beneficial for trainees to utilize in their program, i.e. 20 helmets at $30 per unit

Registration, certification and membership fees

Please provide total request and breakdown, i.e. ACA exam fee x 15 people plus one year membership. If certifying agency fees include cost of trainer please do not duplicate. Participants should not be charged a fee to attend the training.

List manuals, printed materials, AV supplies/rental (not computers) and other consumable goods here.

Please provide breakdown, i.e. 1 day x 2 meals x 15 people x $15 per person = $450

Lodging

Out of town guests only. Please provide breakdown, i.e. 10 rooms x 2 nights x $150 per night = $3,000

Please include other projected direct programmatic expenses with explanation. Staff salaries are not applicable. No administrative expenses are available. To account for Contract Labor expense calculate # hours x hourly rate (refer to the Department of Labor estimates for allowable rates depending on industry/role).

Providing support letters from other partner organizations are of high value to the application but not mandatory.
