"My journey into adaptive sports definitely wasn't what I pictured, but I wouldn't change a thing!" - Alicia Guerrero

Guerrero discovered her path in adaptive athletics at 15 when she attended the 2018 Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Track and Field State Championships. The competitive atmosphere and connections with other athletes opened her eyes to new possibilities. She reached out to Move United Member Organization, ParaSport Spokane, and launched her competitive career in track and field, finding not just a sport but her community.

From high school track to wheelchair basketball in college, each step brought growth and opportunity. Now studying at San Diego State University, Guerrero competes in track and field for Team USA, representing her country on the world's biggest stage.

Shot put and discus energize Guerrero most. She embraces the challenging days that every athlete faces, seeing them as opportunities to grow and push her limits even further.

Through track and field, Guerrero has gained independence and developed leadership skills while building incredible connections with teammates, coaches, and supporters. Sport has shaped who she is today, providing a space to grow, challenge herself, and have fun along the way.

Guerrero's journey continues to expand possibilities, proving that every twist and turn can lead to amazing experiences and personal growth.
