Emma Jundt

"My name is Emma. I was born in China and was adopted when I was 11 years old in 2015. I have spina bifida and can't feel anything on my right leg. I had my leg amputated AK in 2016 so I could wear a prosthetic. But, when I am doing my sports I prefer to not use it. I have 2 brothers who were also adopted from China and we all do adaptive sports together.
I first learned about adaptive sports when I was walking through a Costco near my house and a lady came up to me--Coach Cindy from GLASA--and asked if we do adaptive sports. That was the beginning of my experience and I have loved it. I have done wheelchair basketball, wheelchair track and field, wheelchair tennis, and swimming. My favorite sport so far is wheelchair basketball. But, I am excited to be trying swimming this year and getting back on the track to do some wheelchair track."
