Jeremy Boston

“Sports is a huge driver for me to ensure I maintain as positive mental and physical health as possible for myself and my family. I’ve made so many lifelong friends by attending events where I knew nobody. The camaraderie built by rooting others on and seeing their success and the emotion that comes along with it is almost life changing. Being able to participate and compete with like-minded individuals helps remind me that I’m not alone, that WE can do it, and that good people love to see others succeed. Most of all, participating in sports helps me prove to myself that I can do the same things I used to be able to do when I was able bodied.” – Jeremy Boston, US Air Force Veteran

Boston is a US Air Force Veteran and separated as an E-3, Airman First Class. He was an Air Traffic Controller and served on the Base Honor Guard during his military service.

Boston is a right below knee amputee. He lost his leg in a car wreck that also broke his right humerus (upper arm bone), acquired a moderate traumatic brain injury, and left large scars on his left leg and all along his right side.
Boston was introduced to adaptive sports by Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2). The program reached out to him and invited him to an event in Las Vegas where he was introduced to many adaptive sports including cycling, shooting, swimming, archery, and track and field.

Boston was introduced back to snowboarding by his prosthetist and Move United member organization, Mt. Brighton Adaptive Sports.

Boston participates regularly in upright road cycling, upright trail cycling, and snowboarding. He also enjoys archery and shooting. Snowboarding is Boston’s favorite hobby as it allows him to focus his mind on the sport and helps him to forget any stressors while on the snow. He finds cycling to be a relaxing exercise that keeps him conditioned for the winter months and he appreciates that he can do it alone or with a group because sometimes alone time is needed.
