Atlanta, GA

BlazeSports America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the legacy of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games. Our mission is to change the lives of children and veterans with physical disabilities through adaptive sports.

 

We offer a variety of sport and recreation programs for kids and veterans with physical disabilities. These include spina bifida, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, amputations, spina bifida and visual impairments, among others.

 

All of our programs provide participants the opportunities to increase physical activity, create new friendships, develop new skills and increase independence. We serve a wide range of ability levels from recreational beginner to competitive Paralympians. For more information, please click here.

GallopNYC offers therapeutic horsemanship programs to children and adults with disabilities, including Veterans and at-risk youth. At the height of our season, we provide lessons to 686 riders a week, and operate our riding program at four locations. We are committed to serving low-to-middle income families. The Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization specializing in therapeutic (change to  adaptive) sport and fitness opportunities. The athletes of DASA will be encouraged to seek their highest level of independence and become involved to the fullest extent with their non-disabled peers and their community as a whole. Our programs introduce both children and adults to sports and fitness activities that promote physical fitness, self-confidence, family values, and a positive, team-building environment designed to encourage personal growth throughout all aspects of life. HC Adaptive Sports as a signature program of Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation, the mission of HC Adaptive Sports program is to promote health, independence and personal growth through sports for people with physical disabilities.

 

HC Adaptive Sports provides year round sports and recreation programs that promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and recreational and competitive sports opportunities for area children and adults with physical disabilities.

 

  • Over 300 athletes participate in at least one program or event each year
  • Offers ongoing programs for athletes at all levels, from recreational to competitive elite, in multiple sports such as wheelchair basketball, track and field, tennis, swimming, and archery
