Did you know that social dances like swing and salsa are not only great exercise, but are a great way to relax, have fun, and make new friends? And these dances….and more….can be enjoyed by wheelchair dancers and standing dancers alike? ComMotion – Community in Motion provides FREE wheelchair dance lessons for military veterans and their partner/friend. The program includes a series of weekly private lessons plus a fun dance party with other veterans. Choose from a variety of social dances, including Latin, Ballroom, and Line Dance styles.

  • No experience and no partner are necessary.
  • Manual and power wheelchair users are welcome, and can register with a standing partner/friend if they would like.
  • Lessons will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you
  • Lessons are provided in-person in Raleigh, NC.
  • After registration, you will be asked to provide proof of your military/veteran status (i.e. DD214, VA ID card, military ID card, etc)

ComMotion’s professional instructors have over 20 years of experience teaching, performing, and competing around the world as well as special training and certifications in inclusive dance, wheelchair dance, pilates, and martial arts.
