The Hartford Ski Spectacular strengthens and expands adaptive snow sports programs across the U.S. while identifying and training youth, wounded warriors, and others with disabilities who aspire to become winter Paralympians. The Race Camp at Ski Spec offers a high-level training opportunity for athletes with physical disabilities to learn how to race or advance their racing skills. Race Camp is intended for emerging athletes interested in or currently pursing a competitive career.
Application Overview
Positions Available for All Disciplines (Alpine Ski, Snowboard, Nordic Ski):
- Lead Coaches
- Assist Coaches
Capacity may change based on program needs to ensure a safe, valuable, and rewarding experience for all participants.
Selection Criteria: We prioritize coaches based on availability, certification level, years of experience, current involvement in race coaching, discipline, and versatility in coaching when determining Lead and Assist positions.
Application Timeline
Application Period: September 4 – September 17, 2025 (2 weeks)
What to Expect:
- Confirmation email upon successful submission
- Application status notification by late September 2025
Coach Requirements
- US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 or higher, preferred
- PSIA-AASI Adaptive Level 2 or higher, preferred
- 10 or more years adaptive ski/snowboard race coaching experience, or elite level adaptive race training
- Currently involved in coaching adaptive ski/snowboard race coaching, preferred
- Be on-snow for the duration of the camp (December 8-12, 2025)
Additional Requirements
- Background screening and SafeSport training completion (instructions provided after approval)
- Move United reserves the right to verify credentials and experience
Coach Benefits
Lead Coach Benefits:
- A stipend and/or per diem for services provided during Ski Spec
- Airport transfers to/from Denver International Airport during approved times
- Lodging in Breckenridge (December 7-13, shared room)
- Daily lift ticket, if needed
- Opening banquet (December 8) and closing banquet (December 12)
- Event registration and goody bag
- Daily soup lunch Monday-Friday (available in the Race Room)
Assist Coach Benefits:
