2023 Warfighter Ambassador Event Calendar
See below for descriptions of the events and how to register or express interest. As a reminder, please express your interest in invite only events by submitting your event interest form.

- Tuesday, January 31st // 1600-1700: What to Expect in 2023
- Join Move United staff to discuss changes to the ambassador program for 2023 and how to remain an ambassador in good standing. We’ll also cover the 2023 Ambassador Training Schedule and you’ll get the opportunity to meet additional Move United staff and learn more how you may interact with them throughout the year.
- Thursday, February 9th // 1500-1600: Ambassador Office Hours
- Ambassador Office Hours are dedicated times monthly to be able to chat with Bre Podgorski of Move United. The “office” will be open for the full hour and if more than one person are in the waiting room, you’ll be let in individually to chat in order of arrival.
- Want to engage further with Move United? Move United offers a variety of opportunities for you to be involved as an athlete, official, volunteer and so much more. Join the Move United Sanctioned Competitions and USA Wheelchair Football League POCs to understand the different opportunities and ways you can get involved this year and beyond.
- AFW2 Care Fair – Las Vegas, NV – CLOSED
- As an ambassador, you may be asked to represent Move United at various events, including being the face behind a booth or table at adaptive sports expos or resource fairs. This training will cover what you can expect, what Move United provides, and your responsibilities as an ambassador pre and post event.

- March 23rd // 1500-1600 EST: Ambassador Office Hours
- Ambassador Office Hours are dedicated times monthly to be able to chat with Bre Podgorski of Move United. The “office” will be open for the full hour and if more than one person are in the waiting room, you’ll be let in individually to chat in order of arrival.

- May 3rd // Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Adaptive Sports Expo // Bethesda, MD
- Move United is partnering with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to host an adaptive sports expo for the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas inviting local adaptive sports organizations to participate. Local ambassador participation available, please submit an event interest form for consideration.
- May 4th // AFW2 Care Fair // JBSA-Randolph, San Antonio, TX
- As an ambassador, you may be asked to represent Move United at various events, including being the face behind a booth or table at adaptive sports expos or resource fairs. This training will cover what you can expect, what Move United provides, and your responsibilities as an ambassador pre and post event. Please submit an event interest form to be considered for attendance.

- A component of being a Move United Warfighters Ambassador includes interacting with sponsors in a variety of different settings. Move United Development Director, Dave Simonson, shares his tips and best practices on how to interact with important sponsors and you’ll hear from fellow Warfighters Ambassador, Rich Dyer on his experience interacting with Move United sponsors over the last few years.

- August 16th // 1500-1600 EST: Become a Community in Motion Facilitator
- Join Move United Member Organization, ComMotion, to learn tips and tools to be a leader in your community.
- September 28 // 1400-1500 EST: Ambassador Office Hours

- October 26th // 1400-1500 EST: Getting Involved in Your Local Community
- Move United has over 200 member organizations across 43 states, each providing varying levels of programming and opportunities. Find out how to best connect someone interested in getting involved in adaptive sports to a Move United Member Organization. We’ll also briefly cover the process of becoming a Move United member organization.
- November 1st // 1500-1600 EST: DEI: Finding Commonalities
- One of the main objectives of the Move United Warfighters Ambassador program is to reach and engage other veterans and people with disabilities in the common goal of particpating in adaptive sports. It can sometimes be difficult to engage with those you may not have similar viewpoints with but it is important to remember the common goal of connecting with others and find commonalities to help spread information and resources to others. This session shares best practices to help achieve that goal.
