Move United Marketing and Communications Internship

Move United, an affiliate of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and a national leader in sports and recreation for individuals with disabilities is seeking someone preferably with experience working with Veterans with disabilities to fill the position of Member Services Coordinator to support its Warfighters and Warfighters Ambassador Program. Move United is an expanding, thriving charity dedicated to the life-changing power of sports for youth and adults with disabilities and focused on inclusion. Adaptive Sports Marketing and Communications Internship

The Adaptive Sports Marketing and Communications Intern will learn about the various marketing and communication strategies Move United utilizes and assist with the planning and logistics required to deliver large-scale national adaptive sports events and initiatives throughout the year.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

The internship involves supporting a variety of marketing/communications projects and event logistics.

• Assist with the execution of marketing projects and campaigns, including market research, trends, and analysis
• Assist with content creation for social media, including writing, graphics, and video
• Assist with website updates and content creation
• Assist with podcast post-production
• Assist with analytics for website, social media, newsletters, and other campaigns to help measure effectiveness
• Provide administrative assistance to the marketing team, such as managing databases and organizing files
• Assist with event planning, logistics, and materials/assets for national adaptive sports events
• Support event promotion through social media, email, and other digital channels
• Help with event setup, coordination, and execution as needed

Internship Period

March thru July 2026

Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST (40 hrs/week). Flexible hours available to accommodate differing time zones.

Location

Hybrid preferred (Move United Headquarters in Rockville, MD and remote). This internship may include in-person event attendance.

Compensation

• $50 stipend per day
• Travel expenses to approved events covered
• Adaptive sports training and education
• Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits available upon request
• Additional certificates available through member organizations

Minimum Qualifications

• Background in the field, including formal education or equivalent experience (preferred)
• Technologically proficient, with experience using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Suite
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a background screening
• Availability to travel within the U.S. (air and ground)

Desired Skills (Not Required)

• Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), web platforms (e.g., WordPress), digital marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), and social media platforms
• Digital design experience (e.g., Canva or Adobe InDesign)

Accepted interns will be required to:

• Complete required internship training
• Maintain weekly meetings with their supervisor
• Participate in mid-point and end-of-internship evaluations
• Complete necessary paperwork if seeking college credit
