Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports (SAAS) seeks a collaborative, mission-driven Executive Director to lead a dynamic organization serving athletes with disabilities across Southern Arizona. Founded in 2017, SAAS provides recreational, competitive, and youth programming in wheelchair basketball, tennis, adaptive cycling, outdoor adventures, and more—serving 500+ athletes annually and impacting 6,000+ youth through Adaptive Sports in Schools (ASIS).

The Executive Director leads all aspects of SAAS operations, including strategic planning, fundraising, financial management, program oversight, and community partnerships. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strategic, relationship-driven professional who can execute across all functional areas of a growing adaptive sports organization

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead fundraising, grant writing, donor and sponsor relations
  • Oversee operations, financial management, budgeting, brand, messaging, and sustainability
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and inclusive sports programming
  • Supervise personnel and ensure financial/regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the public face of SAAS and advocate for adaptive sports

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience; nonprofit adaptive sports or recreation preferred
  • Proven fundraising success and financial management skills
  • Strong functional knowledge of adaptive sports & recreation
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building abilities
  • Commitment to inclusion and serving individuals with disabilities

Details:
Full-time, exempt position (evenings/weekends as needed), Tucson-based. Reports to the Board of Directors.
Salary range: $70,000–$80,000, health stipend, paid leave, flexible scheduling
