Cindy Housner is the Founder and Executive Director of Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA), a nationally recognized adaptive sports club that provides sports programs to youth and adults, including veterans, who have a physical or visual disability. Cindy has served as the Event Director for the Great Lakes Regional Games and Adult National Open since 2006. Recognition for Cindy’s accomplishments include the Jan Elix Legacy Award, 2018 Adaptive Sports, USA Hall of Fame Inductee, Governor’s Path Award and being named the 2019 Woman of the Year for the Rotary Club of Chicago.
Cindy earned her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation Adaptive PE from UW La Crosse and a Master of Science in Education from UW Milwaukee. She and her husband Randy have two children, John and Katee, and reside in the Chicagoland area of Illinois.
The Competition Committee includes a diverse representation of voices from the competition space. The group’s focus is on how Move United can better serve athletes in competition and support event directors currently hosting competition and those interested in hosting competition in the future.
