Paul Kolterjahn was a 30 year employee of JPMorgan Chase holding management positions in Operational Management Consulting and Financial Operations. He began volunteering at Children's Specialized Hospital in NJ and assisted at the first wheelchair competition hosted by the hospital in 1978. Later that year, he became a para track and field official and para powerlifting referee in the former National Wheelchair Athletic Association. He was the head of track for Junior National competitions in 1987 and 1991 and Co-Meet Director for Junior Nationals in 2001, 2008 including IWAS, and 2015. He was a coach for the Children's Specialized Hospital team, the Lightning Wheels, for 32 years. He also helped initiate and coach a new team in New York City under the New York Road Runners for 8 years.
Paul is a World Para Powerlifting International Technical Official, a World Para Athletics National Technical Official, a USATF Master Official, USATF Coach and Level 1 Archery coach. He was inducted into the Wheelchair Sport Hall of Fame as a contributor in 2008.
Paul is one of the Para Powerlifting leads on the Competition Committee.
The Competition Committee includes a diverse representation of voices from the competition space. The group’s focus is on how Move United can better serve athletes in competition and support event directors currently hosting competition and those interested in hosting competition in the future.
