Ski Spectacular: Learn to Ski and Snowboard Instructor Referral Form
THE HARTFORD Ski Spectacular, hosted by Move United, in Breckenridge, Colorado, is one of the nation’s largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities, with more than 800 registered participants annually. The event strengthens and expands adaptive snow sports programs in communities throughout the U.S. and helps identify and train youth, wounded warriors, and others with disabilities, including those who strive to be winter Paralympians. For over three decades, thousands of participants have experienced the transformational power of #SkiSpec.
We received your feedback and this year, are excited to be expanding our search for highly qualified ski and snowboard instructors to teach at the 36th Annual THE HARTFORD Ski Spectacular, December 8-14, 2024 . We are asking our member organizations to refer qualified Level I and Level II Adaptive PSIA-AASI Instructors. They must be currently certified and in good standing (up to date with CEUs). Please refer up to 10 qualified instructors. We will reach out to those that you refer in early July to extend an invitation to apply to be a Learn to Ski or Snowboard Instructor. Referred Instructors are not guaranteed to be accepted as instructors. A few things to keep in mind as you refer instructors:
- Must volunteer for the full week of December 8-14, 2024
- Move United reserves the right to verify credentials and years of experience of nominated instructors
- Approved lead instructors will need to complete a background screen and SafeSport training
Lead instructors will receive:
- PSIA-AASI CEUs
- Ground transportation to and from Denver International Airport on Sunday, 12/8/24 and Saturday, 12/14/24
- Lift ticket, if needed, for 12/9 to 12/13/2024
- Lodging in the town of Breckenridge from 12/8 to 12/14/24. You may be assigned a roommate at the discretion of Move United
- One opening (12/9/24) and closing (12/13/2024) banquet ticket
- Free soup lunch Monday-Friday is available by the equipment truck; meal card to offset meal expenses at Beaver Run
- Event registration and goody bag
