Challenged Athletes of West Virginia’s mission is to “improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities through outdoor sports and recreation.”
Challenged Athletes operates the adaptive skiing program at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, teaching over 400 lessons annually to children and adults with disabilities, and provides specialized ski and snowboard equipment to program participants at no cost.
Through our program, adaptive equipment and instruction are available for just about every disability group: 3 and 4 Track Skiing, Mono and Bi-Ski, Bind and hearing impaired and Development Disabilities.
All lessons are one on one and are flexible based on the needs of each participant.
