Peter was a field specialist who was a dominant force in the late 50’s and early 60’s. He came from California to explode onto the international scene by garnering three gold medals and earning one bronze medal at the 1960 Paralympic Games in Rome, Italy. He also was a member of Team USA in 1964 at the Paralympic Games held in Tokyo, Japan. He took fourth place in three separate events in Tokyo.
Fellow competitor David Williamson shared: “I competed against Pete in Field events. Pete was a strong competitor and a great ambassador for wheelchair sports in general.” Pete dedicated his years after competition working with juniors, training them to be proficient in the sport he loved.
