Scott Robeson was an accomplished wheelchair athlete whose ten-year career showcased remarkable versatility, determination, and excellence. Competing internationally in both swimming and basketball, Scott represented the United States in six different countries and at numerous elite competitions around the world.

He participated in three Paralympic Games — the 1976 Toronto Games, the 1980 Games in Arnhem, Netherlands, and the 1984 Games in England. Scott also competed at the Pan American Games in 1975 (Mexico City), 1978 (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), and 1982 (Halifax, Nova Scotia). Additionally, he represented Team USA at three World Championships held at Stoke Mandeville, England in 1977, 1979, and 1981.

Throughout his decade-long career, Scott achieved an extraordinary record of success. He broke forty national records, seven Paralympic records, sixteen Pan American records, and ten world records in swimming. His most dominant season came in 1978, when he set six national and seven Pan American records and earned a Gold Medal in basketball.

Scott’s athletic range extended beyond swimming and basketball. He was a standout wheelchair softball player, competing on six national championship teams, and also excelled in wheelchair tennis, where he captured a national title in the “C” Division.
