Scott Robeson

Scott Robeson was active in wheelchair sports for ten years. During the course of his career, he competed in swimming and basketball in six different countries. He participated in three Paralympic competitions, including the 1976 Toronto Games; the 1980 Games in Arnheim, Netherlands; and the 1984 Games in England.

Scott represented the United States at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City; the 1978 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and the 1982 Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He also competed in three World Championships in 1977, 1979 and 1981 at Stoke Mandeville in England. During the ten years in which Scott competed in wheelchair sports, he broke forty national records, seven Paralympic records, sixteen Pan American records and ten world records in swimming. Scott had the best year of his career in 1978 when he broke six national records and seven Pan American records in swimming, along with winning a Gold Medal in basketball.

In addition to his swimming and basketball careers, Scott played wheelchair softball and was a member of six national champion softball teams. He also played wheelchair tennis, winning a national title in the “C” Division. Over the course of his athletic career, Scott displayed outstanding athletic prowess and dominance in his events.
