Warfighters Ambassador Mission:
Help Veterans Access Adaptive Sports
Move United Warfighters Ambassadors are critical to letting Veterans with disabilities know how and where to access adaptive sports.
This program is designed to:
- Empower Veterans with disabilities to discover and participate in adaptive sports, helping them find motivation, fulfillment, and joy through positive and healthy activities.
- Support you in achieving your personal adaptive sports goals.
- Learn about the ways you’re already making a difference for Veterans or people with disabilities in your community—and identify how we can support your efforts.
- Provide a platform to share your original, personal, and inspiring story about how sport and recreation have impacted your life and why they matter.
As an Ambassador in the Move United Warfighters program, you will represent the organization with a commitment to service and a unique ability to advocate for people with disabilities. Your role is vital in advancing the mission and vision of Move United: to expand access to adaptive sports and ensure that more people with disabilities can experience their transformative benefits.
Move United Warfighters Ambassador Program Details
Criteria to qualify as a Move United Warfighters Ambassador
– Be a qualified participant of Move United Warfighters
– Must have participated in the Move United Warfighters program for at least 1 year
– Be willing to be a representative of Move United at events as requested/available
– Be an active member of your community
– Commit to actively engaging in the training provided to you by Move United
– Adhere to the Move United Warfighters Ambassador guidelines and code of conduct
Role of a Move United Warfighters Ambassador
Ambassadorial duties primarily focus on reaching and engaging Veterans in adaptive sports.
Additional responsibilities may include one or more of the following:
– Recruitment/Mentorship of new Move United members
– Speaking Opportunities
– Educating others around the benefits of an active lifestyle
– Disability awareness and inclusion advocacy
– Community Events
– Small Group Partner Meetings
– Special Stakeholder Opportunities
– Media appearances
– Participation in events
Move United Provides/Benefits
– Move United Warfighters branded apparel to identify you at events
– Key talking points
– Materials and resources to distribute
– Access to Move United Warfighters Grant Program to support your own adaptive sports goals
– Recognition in Move United Magazine
– Ambassador profile at moveunitedsport.org
– Special invitations to key events
– Priority consideration for additional event or grant opportunities
