VA 2026-2027 ADAPTIVE SPORTS GRANT MEMBER ORGANIZATION PARTNER APPLICATION

VA 2026-2027 ADAPTIVE SPORTS GRANT MEMBER ORGANIZATION PARTNER APPLICATION

VA UPDATE: The Department of Veterans Affairs has posted the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the 2026-2027 Adaptive Sports Program. Members with existing SAMS registration should apply directly with the program.

Move United’s proven grant and fiscal management experience, industry reputation, and scale gives us a strong platform from which to apply again and support our member organizations by providing access to funding. At this time, we are inviting Move United member organizations in good standing to participate in our VA 2026-2027 Adaptive Sports Program application.

Due to new VA rules, Move United is now limited to a single grant application. To ensure as many members as possible receive funding, we’re offering two paths forward:

  • Option 1: Apply Directly (Recommended)

If your organization has an existing SAM registration, we strongly encourage you to submit your own independent application. This gives you the greatest potential for funding.

  • Option 2: Apply Through Move United

If you don’t have a SAM account or can’t administer your own grant, Move United will include single-project proposals (up to $15,000) in our collective application. Proposals can be for training or programs, one-time events or ongoing sport and recreation activities.

Please note: Be sure to select the appropriate grant type (Training or Program) when completing your application.

  • VA Training Grant: Supports instructor training and development.
  • VA Program Grant: Supports adaptive sports programs and events.

  • Applying through Move United does not guarantee funding for your programs. Those selected may not receive notification until shortly before the grant period. Typically, the VA notifies Move United in September.
  • Training participants must teach disabled Veterans at no cost to the Veteran. Qualified disabled Veterans are encouraged to participate in the trainings.

Application process

  1. Complete the sports program or training form below and include a Support Letter, no later than April 19, 2026.  A signed support letter from your organization (on letterhead) is mandatory to participate in this opportunity.
  2. Providing Partner Organization Support Letter that you engage with are advantageous, but not mandatory.
  3. Member Organizations that provide written support letters will be named (pending review) in our grant application as adaptive sports providers. If we are successful in securing a grant, your Member Organization will be awarded funding for the program(s) you submit and are approved for by the VA, bearing in mind final awards will be entirely dependent on the grant amount received and any specifications set forth by the VA.
  4. Let us know if your organization plans to submit programs directly (or through another partnering organization) to the VA ASG program. We are supportive of any other applications you plan to submit, and this is important for us to know so we can avoid submitting any duplicate programs which would negatively affect you.

Member organizations may submit only one application to Move United, either for the VA Program Grant or the VA Training Grant.
