2022 Survivor Adaptive Sports Fund Opportunity

Move United provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop independence, confidence and fitness through community sports, recreation and educational programs. The Survivor Adaptive Sports Fund offers adaptive sports grants for people with permanent physical disabilities who have been victims of gun violence or acts of terrorism in the U.S. This includes people who have sustained a permanent disability (i.e. spinal cord injury, amputation, vision impairment, traumatic brain injury, nerve/muscle damage that permanently impedes function) as result of gun violence or an act of terrorism in the U.S. (Domestically). This does not include programming for veterans with disabilities who were injured abroad.

Grant Details

  • Move United Member Organizations must serve survivors through on-going adaptive sports opportunities for people with permanent physical disabilities who have been victims of gun violence or acts of terrorism in the U.S. (Domestically)
  • Grants between $3,000 and $7,500+ will be awarded to eligible Move United Member Organization. Amount awarded will be based on participants served
  • Grant funds may be spent on direct operating costs only (i.e. Program fees, instructor costs, facility rental, equipment and travel). Administrative and indirect costs are not applicable
  • Grant funds may be spent between February 1, 2022 and September 15, 2022.
  • A final report will need to be submitted to provide an impact summary by September 31, 2022. This includes: number of survivors served (participant contact information), sports offered, success stories, outreach performed, an expense report
