Able Lacrosse was a not-for-profit that was founded in 2021 by brothers, Rowan & Christian Dias who were inspired by their younger sister to provide supported access to the sport of lacrosse for individuals with developmental differences. Thanks to our incredible community of volunteers, what started out as inclusive “backyard lacrosse” has now grown.
In an effort to honor the requests of our special needs community for a broader scope of inclusive sports, Able Lacrosse has evolved. In November of 2022, we rebranded as Able Athletics. Our mission remains the same: To create a movement of inclusion in the sporting community by educating our volunteers on how to talk to and about individuals with special needs and to provide sports programming that is not typically offered by other adaptive programs.
Guided by our consulting partners who consist of physical, occupational & speech therapists, professional coaches, and general and special education instructors, we provide opportunities for individuals with and without learning differences, disabilities, and the need for accommodations to play sports in an inclusive and judgment free environment.
Programming is open to individuals with and without needs for accommodations
