Eligibility, Registration and Scholarship Details
Eligibility
- Athletes are responsible for qualifying for THE HARTFORD Nationals conducted by Move United prior to July 1, 2024 at a Sanctioned Competition

- Must register to compete by the registration deadline of June 26th 2024 at the 2024 THE HARTFORD Nationals conducted by Move United
- Must have an eligible impairment as defined by the International Paralympic Committee and be classifiable in order to compete at the 2024 THE HARTFORD Nationals

- Must be a Veteran or Member of the Armed Services who has a permanent disability
- Must select “Active Duty” or “Veteran” on the registration form in response to “Are you an active or retired member of the Military?”

- ALL Veterans compete for FREE

Scholarship Details
- $500 scholarship will be awarded to the first 25 qualified registered Veterans – Individuals selected based on registration date will be notified via email.
- Scholarships will be provided directly to the athlete (versus a program/organization supporting the athlete)
- Recipients must provide receipt(s) for expenses up to $500 in order to be reimbursed
Allowable Expenses
Athletes may request reimbursement for the following items (up to $500 total):
- Nationals “add-on” fees (such as daily lunch tickets and/or Closing Celebration ticket expenses)
- Air Travel or Ground Transportation per Move United’s travel policies
- Hotel for up to 7 nights between July 12 and July 18 and according to Move United’s travel policies
- $50 Per Diem for up to 7 days (per diem covers meals, tips, and parking – can include travel days)
- Sports supplies or apparel needed for training or competition
Reimbursement Deadline and Process
- Recipients must turn in all itemized receipts by Friday, August 2, 2024 in order to receive their scholarships
- If itemized receipts are received by June 28, 2024, the scholarship will be provided to the recipient at Athlete Check In on site at Nationals
- Itemized receipts received between June 29, 2024 and August 2, 2024, will be processed and mailed to the recipients following the close of Nationals.
Athlete Responsibilities
- Athletes are responsible for qualifying for THE HARTFORD Nationals prior to July 1, 2024 at a Sanctioned Competition
- Athletes are responsible for applying for free Military Athlete Registration Code HERE
- Athletes are responsible for requesting their free Military Athlete Registration Code BEFORE registering for THE HARTFORD Nationals
- Athletes are responsible for registering for THE HARTFORD Nationals by the deadline noted on the event website
- Athletes are responsible for making their own travel arrangements – this includes flights, on-ground transportation, lodging reservations, meals, etc.
- * Free Registration INCLUDES access to competition, all socials, educational sessions and clinics, awards for top finishers, access to an event communication app and a registration goody bag with one event credential, program and event shirt.
- * Free Registration DOES NOT include add-ons such as: extra shirts, daily lunches, Closing Ceremony dinner tickets, etc.
