Job Description: Sportable is seeking a mission-driven Membership Coordinator to lead the execution of strategic initiatives that foster social connection and promote well-being for individuals with disabilities served through sports, recreation, and wellness programs. Key responsibilities include cultivating relationships with both new and existing members, launching a social connection accountability program, overseeing social case management, and offering training and support to partner organizations throughout Virginia.
Reports To: Health and Wellness Outcomes Manager
Salary: $47,000-$50,000 annually
Category Type: Non-exempt. This is a full-time position. Some night and weekend work may be required.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the membership program, which includes evaluating athlete eligibility and supporting onboarding and retention efforts.
- Collaborate with the program team to design, oversee, and direct the Social Connection Accountability Program (SCAP), aiming to integrate and expand social connection strategies and tactics throughout all member programs.
- Provide personalized resources, assistance, and Information & Referral (I&R) services to help both new and existing participants deepen their connections with the community.
- Coordinate screening and measurement procedures to measure program effectiveness both at the individual and community levels.
- Conduct program evaluations to track outcomes and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide training and support to coaches and staff involved in program execution.
- Support ongoing growth and implementation of Sportable Wellness Initiatives, which includes both virtual and in-person wellness programs.
- Collaborate with partner organizations across Virginia, providing training, technical assistance, and support to empower the expansion of social connection through new sports, recreation, and wellness opportunities for people with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely data related to social connection efforts, membership, contact records, and asset loans in Salesforce database.
- Create quarterly grant reports that detail impacts of the social connection programs and highlight areas for improvement.
- Oversee 1-2 sport and/or recreation programs as assigned, including but not limited to: operations, logistics, recruitment of athletes and volunteers, and management.
- Collaborate with the program team to facilitate the equipment loan process and manage returns.
- Support major special programmatic events (River City Classic, River City Slam, NWBA Championships, etc.) throughout the year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Passionate about Sportable’s mission
- Degree in health and human services, social work, occupational therapy, recreation therapy, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in project management, member services, or community engagement
- Experience or educational background working with people with disabilities preferred
- Proficiency with CRMs/data management systems, Salesforce preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience in developing successful partnerships with community organizations
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Ability to organize and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively with a team
- Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading
- Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism
- Ability to self-direct, take ownership, and see projects to completion in a timely manner
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
- Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends occasionally
- Must have reliable transportation
