Andie Sue Roth

I originally got involved with adaptive sports when a friend introduced me to the Challenged Athletes Foundation events and I started participating at about 5 years old.

I am most proud of being a C2 rated member of the United States Pony Club. This is a difficult certification to achieve and I worked hard to do it. I am also glad to be a novice-level eventer which takes a lot of dedication to working on both myself and my horse. The other thing I am most proud of is to have the ability to teach others to love the sport that I love. My disability is a positive because in teaching young kids to ride, balance and confidence are really important and I have a unique perspective on both.

As an equestrian, I appreciate most the fact that my horse and I are a team. Our partnership keeps me strong and constantly learning. I enjoy the time spent with my friends at shows and training camps.

To someone who is thinking about pursuing adaptive sports, I would say "Never give up! Try everything because you never know what you might like or what you might be good at."
