Joshua Jundt

My name is Joshua. I was adopted from China when I was 12 years old in 2015. I was born with spina bifida, scoliosis and club foot. In 2018, I met Ms. Cindy at Costco when I was shopping for my mom's Christmas present. She told my family about adaptive sports and we started doing sports with GLASA in 2019. I did swimming, wheelchair basketball and track and field. My favorite sport was swimming. I decided to switch to wheelchair track and field this year and I love it. I have a brother and sister adopted from China that also do adaptive sports and we enjoy going to all of the competitions together with our parents.

Adaptive sports have made me more confident. I am less lazy. When I first got here from China I didn't know what to do with myself so I sat and watched TV a lot. Now I am more active and I do a lot more activities. I also didn't have many friends but now I do both in my sports and in my neighborhood and at school. I used to be afraid of meeting new people but I am not as shy anymore. Sports and my activities have helped me feel much more confident.

I want to help people build their body and help them to make their body stronger and to have the body they wish for. I want to be a personal trainer so other people can do the kinds of things that I have been able to do. I have been working out at the gym 3-4 hours everyday for many months now and I have learned that this helps me with my confidence and I want others to know they can do the same things. I want to help them with that too.
