Sarah Kate Sligh
I am a swimmer with cerebral palsy, and I've been swimming since I was seven years old. For years, I swam with able-bodied swimmers and wasn't even aware of the opportunities for adaptive sports. In my freshman year of high school, I was opened up to the world of adaptive sports and competing with swimmers who wouldn't leave me in the dust at every meet. I continue to swim and work towards Paralympic qualifying times, working in the summers to spread a love of swimming to other slower swimmers who feel discouraged.
