The Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) is the recommended airport for those traveling to our event via airplane. Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, Sun Country Airlines, Southwest, and United all service Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Ground transportation is the responsibility of each athlete, coach, and family members attending Nationals. Transportation is not provided by the local organizing committee or Move United.

Health and Wellness
Medical support will be provided to the athletes competing at The Hartford Nationals. They will be onsite at each competition if an athlete has a medical concern. Both the locations of the Athletic Trainers at each competition venue and the locations of nearby hospitals and urgent cares will be shared prior to the event. In the event of a medical emergency, please call 911.

General Security
General security will exist for the venues as well as occasional presence from local law enforcement. If you experience a security threat, immediately dial 911 to activate emergency response, and then inform Ryan Semke who is onsite with Move United at rsemke@moveunitedsport.org or 240-268-1246.
Competition Environment – Weather
Heat-related illnesses are one of the greatest risks for athletes competing outdoors. It is advised to begin hydrating a couple of days ahead of your arrival at Nationals and continue to hydrate well throughout the week. Cooling towels will be provided by Move United and ample water and ice will be available at all sport venues.
Weather announcements will be communicated through the Nationals App. If severe weather happens during a competition, an announcement will be made via the Nationals App as well as over the PA system, where applicable, and the emergency plan will be followed.

Come have fun and learn the basic rules and strategies for this exciting Paralympic sport. Boccia is an inclusive game that can be played by all ages and abilities. We will play and enjoy the sport in a no pressure environment while playing Texas marbles, tic-tac-toe and other fun and exciting games! Already know the sport of boccia? We have courts for you to learn higher level tactical skills. Come sharpen your skills with US coaches. We highly encourage coaches/parents to come as well to ask questions and learn more about the sport to take back to your local programs.

Description: This session will outline a scalable, holistic pipeline for adaptive sport modeled in Michigan through University of Michigan Adaptive Sports & Fitness and I Am An Athlete Too. Framed by the national integration momentum of USA Track & Field, we will examine gaps in K–12 access, high school inclusion, collegiate opportunity, and healthcare referral. Presenters will detail ASIRI’s physical education integration model, high school advocacy pathways by way of the work being done by I Am An Athlete Too, and collegiate adaptive sport structures like the program being built at University of Michigan. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to introduce, support, and sustain lifelong athlete development, mobilize grassroots networks, and embed adaptive sport as an expected, equitable component of the broader sport system.
Move United Para-College Recruiting Showcase

Description: The Move United Para-College Recruiting Showcase is a Move United Member Exclusive Event. This recruiting event is one-of-a-kind, bringing adaptive athletics programs and prospective para-college athletes together in one space. The event will include a recruiting tabling event, and a formal program with a speaker/panel. Adaptive college programs participating in this event will have a designated table at the Para-College Recruiting Showcase. Athletes and families will have the opportunity to engage with adaptive college coaches and student-athletes, learn about the recruiting process, and indicate their interest in attending various institutions as an adaptive athlete. The primary audience for this event is high school athletes, however youth athletes are all welcome to attend.
Para Swimming Development Clinic
Tuesday, July 14th
Clinic 1 1:30pm - 3:00pm for those who have previously attended a clinic or have swimming experience

Description: Developmental clinics are ideal for newer swimmers, regardless of age, who are interested in learning more about the sport of Para swimming, U.S. Paralympics Swimming and some basic techniques and strategies for training and competing as a Para swimmer. Athletes do not need to have been previously classified but should be signed up for classification at the event. Camp will include both in water and classroom sessions and will be led by U.S. Para Swimming staff and/or National Team coaches.
Discover Field Hockey; A Sport for All, A Sport for Life

Description: Field hockey is the third most popular sport in the world, played and watched by millions around the world. Hockey, as it's called in most places, is a fun, fast paced invasion game sport played in several formats. Traditionally 11 v 11, there are many versions of hockey which are small sided games. One of the most flexible sports, hockey can be played by almost every group in multiple versions; outdoor, indoor, beach, walking and others.
Wheelchair Softball with the West Michigan Rollin Whitecaps

Description: Come on out and join the West Michigan Rollin Whitecaps for an evening of fun on the wheelchair softball field. The field is a part of the Mary Free Bed YMCA, a universally designed facility, where we practice throughout our summer season. We will have sports wheelchairs and all the softball equipment you need to give this sport a try!
Adaptive Judo & Self Defense with 2021 Olympian & 2x Deaflympic Champion Nina Cutro-Kelly
