Para Track and Field Coaches Training Registration
The Para Track and Field Coaches Training will be held in Hoover, Alabama in conjunction with the 2024 The Hartford Nationals conducted by Move United.
The Para Track and Field Coaches Training is administered in partnership with Adaptive Track & Field USA. Its primary goal is to expand the number of trained para track and field coaches by exposing and educating coaches on the nuances of track and field specific to athletes with a disability. The course will cover wheelchair racing, seated throws, sprint mechanics, giving feedback, teaching focus, and more.
This course will be taught by Cathy Sellers and David Greig.
Date and Time: Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13
- Friday, July 12 at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – Wynfrey Hotel
- 9:00am – 11:30am: classroom session
- 1:00pm – 5pm: classroom session
- Saturday, July 13 at Spain Park High School
- 7:30am – 12:30pm: observation at field events
- 2:00pm – 7:00pm: observation at field events
Maximum class size: 30
Prerequisite: Experience coaching track and field and/or coaching athletes with a disability is desired but not required
