Job Overview:  The Marketing and Events Coordinator will support the Director of Marketing and Events in the planning and execution of all marketing strategies and event planning activities within Sportable. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting Sportable’s mission. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

Job Description: This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of marketing plans, coordinating event logistics, creating marketing materials, updating the website, and managing social media content. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Events and collaborate with the program, outreach, and development teams. The Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of events and marketing campaigns, as well as contributing to the growth and visibility of the organization.

 

Category Type: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.  Some night and weekend work is required.

 

Reports To: Director of Marketing & Events

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Execution: Assist with implementing marketing plans to enhance Sportable’s brand visibility and reach, including digital marketing, content creation, and promotional campaigns.
  • Event Logistics: Manage logistical details for various events, including major athletic programs, fundraising events, and internal meetings, from venue booking and vendor management to participant registration and volunteer coordination.
  • Marketing Materials: Design and produce marketing collateral (flyers, brochures, social media graphics, website content) that adheres to brand guidelines and effectively communicates Sportable’s mission and programs.
  • Website Maintenance: Provide timely updates to the WordPress website, ensuring content accuracy, functionality, and optimal user experience.
  • Social Media:  Design and schedule engaging content across Sportable’s social media platforms, monitor online presence, track analytics, and optimize strategies to grow audience and engagement.
  • Public Relations: Assist in drafting and distributing press releases and media kits, maintain media lists, and track media coverage to promote Sportable’s activities and achievements.
  • Budget Management: Support the Director of Marketing and Events in tracking expenses, processing invoices, and preparing reports related to the marketing and events budget.
  • Market Research: Assist with market research and data analysis to identify trends, target audiences, and opportunities for growth, informing marketing strategies and program development.
  • On-site Event Support: Provide on-site support at events to ensure smooth operations, manage logistics, and enhance the attendee experience.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Events to support the team and contribute to Sportable’s overall success.

 

Education, Qualifications, and Skills:

  • Passionate about Sportable’s mission and understanding of the adaptive sports community.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing and/or event planning preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content design, and social media platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, WordPress, and Canva.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary: $47,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience
