Stuart Ollanik is a volunteer instructor and board president for Ignite Adaptive Sports, one of the oldest and largest adaptive snow sports programs in the United States. Ignite operates at Eldora Mountain Resort near Nederland, Colorado, and serves athletes with all kinds of disabilities in the Colorado Front Range communities and beyond, using state of the art adaptive skiing and snowboarding equipment. As an advocate for access to Colorado’s outdoors for all, Stuart is committed to assuring that all members of the community are welcomed in and not excluded from sports and recreation.
Stuart is a graduate of Georgetown Law School and is retired from the practice of law. He has been involved in accessibility for people with disabilities since the 1980’s in various capacities with groups in Alaska and Colorado. He is currently also active as a tutor and mentor with I Have a Dream Foundation of Boulder County. He and his wife and children and grandchildren live and play in Boulder County, Colorado
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Team includes a diverse representation of voices from the disability community and will regularly meet to assess and create best practices through policy and programs. The group’s focus is on how Move United may better serve each person with a disability. Members are tasked with identifying the gaps and barriers in the Adaptive Sports community and are champions of necessary change.
