Move United Education develops the tools and resources to lead society to a world where everyone’s included. As the nation’s leading provider of training in adaptive sport, Move United has educated more than 5,800 coaches, instructors, educators, community leaders, and VA staff to form a movement of those who teach, or want to teach, sport and recreation to people with disabilities. Through Move United’s partnerships with athletes, members, National Governing Bodies, and leading sport, youth and community organizations, Move United is here to deliver the products that make over 70 adaptive sports accessible to more people.
Since its formation, Move United Education has been busy providing quality learning opportunities for our entire member network. The movement is still underway and we working on some exciting initiatives that members should expect to engage with throughout the remainder of 2021. Check out below for a few highlights of the last few months and a couple teasers of what’s to come!
INCLUSIVE PLAYBOOK
Move United’s Inclusive Playbook was officially launched as a part of Move United’s 2021 Education Conference. We’ve sent out 1000+ copies of the Inclusive Playbook and have about 7,000 more to go. Do you work with kids in the sport, community or education space and want to fuel conversations about disability and adaptive sport? The Inclusive Playbook is a great workbook to support building inclusion at a young age.
EDUCATION CONFERENCE
For a second year in a row, Move United Education delivered its annual conference virtually. Reaching over 900+ professionals from over 500+ organizations, Move United expanded its conference in terms of scope and topics, organization resources and digital resources for attendees. Together, we covered pivotal conversations around equity and inclusion in the adaptive sport community.

FREE TRAINING FOR VETERANS & VETERAN-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS
After a pivot to virtual training last summer, we were pleased to resume in-person training events in September 2020 and are continuing to ramp up throughout the summer to offer more in-person and online training than ever before! Supported by funds from the VA Adaptive Sports Grant, these free training opportunities are available to VA staff, Move United member organizations, and others in the community providing services to disabled veterans at no cost. In light of COVID-related challenges, Moved United has discontinued widespread marketing of these events given they are limited in size and primarily intended to serve only those in the local area. We look forward to resuming events that connect folks from around the country to train together in the near future!

INCLUSIVE SPORTS FUNDAMENTALS
The Move United Inclusive Sport Fundamentals, which will be comprised of a manual, e-learning course, and supplemental tools, will provide a foundation for Move United member organizations to utilize internally, as well present to their community partners, to help foster understanding and awareness around including athletes with disabilities. The Inclusive Sport Fundamentals will supplement sport providers with introductory knowledge and competency to create a space where all athletes feel valued and accepted.
