"I have loved it from the beginning—wheelchair basketball, track and field, tennis, and now I'm excited to be trying swimming and getting back on the track." - Emma Jundt

Jundt was born in China and came to the United States in 2015 at age 11. She has spina bifida and underwent an above-knee amputation in 2016. When competing in adaptive sports, Jundt chooses not to use a prosthetic, finding freedom and strength in her own approach to competition.

Her introduction to adaptive sports came through a chance encounter at a local Costco, where Coach Cindy from GLASA recognized her potential. That conversation opened doors to a world of athletic opportunities that Jundt has embraced wholeheartedly.

Jundt competes across multiple sports including wheelchair basketball, track and field, and tennis. Wheelchair basketball has become her favorite, though she continues to explore new challenges. This year, she is adding swimming to her competitive pursuits while returning to wheelchair track events.

Sports have become a family affair for Jundt. She trains and competes alongside her two brothers, who were also adopted from China. Together, they share the experience of pushing their limits and discovering what they can achieve through adaptive athletics.
