I was born three months early with spastic paraplegia, cerebral palsy, congenital scoliosis, and a leg length discrepancy. Kids think I am an ordinary kid but once I tell them I have problems with my legs then they are surprised. They see how much I can do and think to themselves why can’t I do that and someone who has to train twice as hard do it and can sometimes do it better than me. My therapist said with all the activities I do, I don't need to go to physical therapy anymore. I feel like my experience in swimming is at a sort of a high level because of all the training I do and keeping up able body kids. I am usually only one step behind all of them especially when we do kick sets. I keep up with kids that are my age and I feel accomplished by that because of how the muscles in my legs are. I am so thankful to have the support from the para community to help me reach my goals and see that they are obtainable.
